PRESS RELEASE OBIO/AKPOR LOCAL GOVERNMENT ISSUES 7-DAY NOTICE TO VACATE ILLEGAL STRUCTURES AROUND OBIRI-IKWERRE FLYOVER.

The Obio/Akpor Local Government Council has issued a Seven (7) Days Notice to all individuals, traders, and occupants of illegal and makeshift structures erected in and around the Tam-David West Boulevard Interchange Flyover, popularly known as the Obiri-Ikwerre Flyover, to vacate the area and remove such structures immediately.
The notice affects all unauthorized kiosks, shanties, containers, stalls, and temporary attachments located on the flyover, road setbacks, pedestrian walkways, and adjoining right-of-way corridors.
According to the Council, the action is in line with its statutory responsibility to ensure public safety, free flow of traffic, environmental sanitation, and the protection of critical public infrastructure within the Local Government Area.
The Council has advised all affected persons to comply fully with this directive within seven (7) days from the date of this release. It further warned that no compensation will be paid for any illegal structure removed.
At the expiration of the notice, the Obio/Akpor Local Government Council will commence full enforcement, demolition, and evacuation of all remaining illegal structures without further notice, and defaulters will bear the consequences arising from such enforcement actions.
The Council calls on residents and traders to cooperate with this directive in the interest of orderliness, safety, and sustainable urban development.
